The anime MMORPG Blue Protocol is getting a second chance at life under a new name and development team. Now titled Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, the game is being revived by Chinese gaming giant Tencent through their studio Shanghai Bokura Network Technology.
This revival comes after the original Blue Protocol, developed by Bandai Namco, struggled to find its audience in Japan and had its Western release canceled. The game's service in Japan ended in January 2025, but now players worldwide will have a chance to experience this reimagined version.
